Press Release: The first annual Bucks County Family Caregiver Expo on October 8th will help family caregivers deal with the challenges of caring for loved ones at home, and feel comfort in knowing they are not alone. Family caregivers provide more than 80 percent of all homecare services. They play a vital role in our communities and in our health care system. Many caregivers fulfill multiple roles, most are married or living with a partner and most have worked and managed caregiving responsibilities at the same time. Over half of family caregivers spend an average of 20 hours each week tending to the medical needs, nutrition and activities of daily life while also serving as an advocate for their loved ones in communicating with doctors, insurance companies and Medicare. The FREE expo will feature educational seminars, health screenings, exhibits and product demonstrations as well as an opportunity to meet other caregivers and share ideas. Attendees will be pampered by taking advantage of a FREE SPA that will be offering mini facials, massage and many other spa services. Workshops on caregiving and coping with stress will be offered by, AARP, Counseling for Caregivers/Abramson Center, the Alzheimer Association and the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services. "The Caregiver Expo is not only a great source of information and support, it's also a day of relaxation and rejuvenation. It's a chance for caregivers to find out about resources that are available, but also to learn how to take care of themselves as they deal with the stress of caregiving" said Dale Blair, President of LifeTime Expos & Events, producers of the expo.
The expo will run from 10 am until 3pm on Monday, October 8th at the Radisson Hotel on Route 1 in Trevose. Pre-registration is not required. About LifeTime Expos & Events, LLC |
