Bristol, PA, 1 March 2011: According to Executive Director of the Bucks County Workforce Investment Board, Elizabeth Walsh, the unemployment rate in Bucks County is at 7.7%. “We do not merely look at the percentage statistic,” according to Walsh. “We determine how many people 7.7% of the civilian population that equals. That unemployment statistic translates to 26,600 unemployed individuals in Bucks County.”
The Bucks County Workforce Investment Board analyzes the data and working closely with the PA CareerLink® Bucks County targets resources and programs to the populations affected by unemployment – which in the current economy include recent college graduates, the “encore” generation of retirees returning to the workforce, and workers who were in the same company for 30+ years and are now building a resume for the first time. Partnering with Bucks County Economic Development agencies, a FREE Expo will be offered and will address these needs of numerous unemployed Individuals.
